North Tetagouche, where we now live on a small farm, used to be called Kinsale. Around 1877 when our house was built by the Murphy family, many Irish families settled in the area bringing with them a repertoire of Irish fiddle tunes. By chatting with some of the old timers, I was able to learn the names of different fiddlers like Timothy Calnan. I haven't found any recordings of local fiddlers yet, so I decided to compose this set of three tunes:

a) Murphy’s homestead (Socan)-Name given to our house
b) Kinsale Meadow (Socan)-Name given to our fields used to keep sheep.
c) Timothy Calnan’s (Socan)-Name of one of the first Kinsale fiddlers, N.-B.

North Tetagouche, où nous vivons présentement sur une petite ferme, s'appelait autrefois Kinsale. Vers 1877, lorsque notre maison a été construite par la famille Murphy, de nombreuses familles irlandaises se sont installées dans la région en apportant avec eu un répertoire de pièces de violon. En discutant avec certains des anciens, j'ai pu apprendre les noms de différents violoneux comme Timothy Calnan. Je n'ai pas encore trouvé d'enregistrement de violoneux du coin, alors j'ai décidé de composer cet suite de trois pièces :

a) Murphy’s homestead (Socan)-Nom donné à notre maison.
b) Kinsale Meadow (Socan) -Nom donné au champ de moutons entourant notre maison.
c) Timothy Calnan’s (Socan)-Nom donné à l'un des plus ancien violoneux de Kinsale, N.-B.
