about

This is a set of three tunes from one of my favorite acadien fiddlers, Firmin Mallet. Firmin was a small man born in Shippagan, N.-B. who latter settled in Saint-Sauveur, N.-B. He is kown to have given people hope during de 1930' by giving political advice and by playing his fiddle.

a) Ripitchoune (Firmin Mallet)
b) Em à Firmin (Firmin Mallet)
c) Dosithé Fournier (From Robert Lavoie's repertoire)

La famille LeBlanc Bathurst, New Brunswick

The celebrated LeBlanc Clan performs 19th century tunes deeply rooted into Celtic and Acadian traditions and mostly unknown to other Celtic nations such as Ireland, Brittany and Scotland. accompanied by baroque, jazz and traditional arrangements on the piano.
